Key Points:
- Don't look at others, look at Jesus.
- God loves you.
- Don't stop. Keep going on.
What is man's greatest need?
FORGIVENESS.
That is why God sent His son, Jesus.
"Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?”
- Peter wanted to impress Jesus by increasing the three times (the rabbis taught that they should forgive only up to three times) to seven times. He thought he was being generous here.
- After answering Peter, Jesus proceeded to tell a parable. Through parables the unknown were made known.
"The greatest argument of a Christian is not doctrine, but a loving and lovable heart."
- Ephesians 4:2 "Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love."
- Righteousness by faith = believing God forgives you.
- Sometimes all we see is the mess on the outside, but we don't know what's going on the inside.
- When someone does something bad to us it's hard to forget it.
- You may not forget but you can choose not to dwell on it. Don't talk about it or think about it.
“You cannot keep birds from flying over your head but you can keep them from building a nest in your hair”
― Martin Luther
- Jesus has bailed you out you don't have to go to prison. He went to prison for you.
